The Flame of Hope, the official torch for the Special Olympics World Games Los Angeles 2015, will be carried into Calabasas for a ceremony at City Hall today, July 17.

Calabasas is the host city for the Great Britain team, which has traveled to compete in this year’s world games in Los Angeles. The athletes will spend three days in Calabasas leading up to the start of the games.

Today’s Torch Run will begin at the Calabasas Tennis and Swim Center on Park Sorrento and turn right onto Park Granada, left onto Calabasas Road in front of The Commons shopping center and finish at the Civic Center.

Calabasas Mayor Lucy Martin and Capt. Patrick Davoren of the Lost Hills Sheriff Station hosted the 11 a.m. arrival ceremony.
