At the request of various residents and with the knowledge and opinion of the Community Association office, the city has been compelled to provide an open platform for this issue. The goal is to measure how many Hidden Hills residents believe Saturday construction should not be allowed. A majority of residents would be needed to take action regarding this issue. Below Hidden Hills resident, Eric Toeg, writes an opinion piece on the subject.
Living in Hidden Hills enables each and every resident to experience city living in a rural, quiet, family-oriented community. Until recently, things were much like that, but in recent years major construction and large scale remodels have increased dramatically and have no sign of slowing down. Builders are buying properties and building spec homes, increasing the traffic, noise and impeding on the quiet “rural” foundation that our community has been established. Not only does this increased construction erode our quiet community, it also creates safety issues for horses and riders within our neighborhood.
This petition is to acquire a consensus to compel the Hidden Hills Community Association and the City of Hidden Hills to begin immediate discussions toward decisive action to make Saturdays “No Construction Days.” Basic maintenance services such as pools, plumbers and interior maintenance would still be allowed, details of which we be better defined if community support is shown.
