If you grew up in the Conejo Valley like I did, you probably have your own 4th of July stories — for me, it was all about the Oaks Mall parking lot in the late ‘80s. That was the spot: families camped out for hours, grilling, laughing, and waiting for the sky to explode in color. Now, summer’s here again and our community is ready to celebrate bigger than ever. From drone shows in Agoura to pancake breakfasts in Newbury Park, I’ve rounded up the best local happenings so you don’t miss a thing. Here’s your 2025 guide to all the Qireworks, parades, and neighborhood fun in Agoura Hills, Oak Park, Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Camarillo, Moorpark, and Simi Valley. Find your favorite, grab your people, and make some memories!
Moorpark
π Event: 3rd of July Fireworks Extravaganza
π
Date: Thursday, July 3, 2025—Gates open 4:00 PM, Fireworks~9:00 PM
π Location: Arroyo Vista Community Park
π Info: https://www.moorparkca.gov/578/3rd-of-July-Fireworks-Extravaganza
π My Local Note: Out of all the events, this is probably the biggest one. Entry is NOT free, but they do provide a lot of entertainment. Multiple bands, food trucks, kids play areas, and of course, an awesome fireworks show. Get your tickets early.
Agoura Hills
π Event: Concert & Patriotic Drone Light Show
π
Date: Sunday, July 6, 2025 from 6:00 PM–9:00 PM
π Location: Chumash Park
π Info: https://www.agourahillscity.org/Home/Components/Calendar/Event/9981/528? npage=2
π My Local Note: Not really a fireworks show, but still, seriously cool patriotic display using drones. This will be happening after their Concert in the Park featuring the Journey tribute band. Definitely a fantastic evening.
Westlake Village
π Event: Parade & Party in the Park
π
Date: Friday, July4, 2025 from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
π Route: Lakeview Canyon Rd → Berniece Bennett Park
π Info: https://www.wlv.org/254/4th-of-July-Parade
π My Local Note: This parade has been going on since the 1960’s(maybe). It’s a wonderful community event for all to enjoy and participate in.
π Event: Fireworks Spectacular
π
Date: Friday, July 4, 2025—Gates open 5:00 PM, fireworks~9:10 PM
π Location: Westlake Golf Course
π Info: https://www.wlv.org/366/4th-of-July-Fireworks-Show
π My Local Note: This is the newest fireworks show on this list, but they do a REALLY good job. The Westlake Golf Course hosts the event location. Food trucks and adult beverages will be served. There is NO PARKING at the golf course, so plan on walking. ALTERNATE VIEWING LOCATION: Calvary Community Church allows guests to view from their lawn at no cost. Fantastic location, fewer crowds, and free! At least it was. https:// calvarywestlake.org/events/
Thousand Oaks
π₯ Event: Pancake Breakfast & Home Run Derby
π
Date: Friday, July 4, 2025 from 8:00 AM–11:00 AM
π Location: Borchard Community Park, Newbury Park
π Info: https://www.crpd.org/events/fourth-of-july-activities/
π My Local Note: The Pancake breakfast and home run derby have been going on at Borchard Park as long as I can remember. It’s a great way to start off your 4th of July festivities at a really fun community event!
π Event: Fireworks Spectacular
π
Date: Friday, July 4, 2025 at 9:00 PM
π Location: Behind Hillcrest Center; view from Janss Marketplace/TheOaks
π Info: https://www.crpd.org/events/fourth-of-july-activities/
π My Local Note: The Janss Mall also has an event they put on. It is free to the public. Here’s the link for more info: https://janssmarketplace.com/events/
Camarillo
π Event: Fourth of July Fireworks Show
π
Date: Friday, July 4, 2025—Show starts~9:00 PM
π Location: Camarillo Premium Outlets parking lot
π Info: https://www.cityofcamarillo.org/visitors/attractions/fireworks.php
π My Local Note: Full honesty, I’ve never been to this show, though I’ve heard good things about it. It’s a “view from your car” event and parking is available at the outlet mall parking lots. A friend told me that it was super easy to get in and out. He said they had their traffic control dialed in. If you’re interested in viewing a fireworks display from the comfort of your car, this is the one for you!
Simi Valley
π Event: Reagan Library 250th Anniversary Celebration(NOT A FIREWORKS SHOW!)
π
Date: Friday, July 4, 2025 from 10:00 AM–3:00 PM
π Info: https://www.reaganfoundation.org/events/annual-4th-of-july-celebration-2025
π My Local Note: This is NOT a fireworks show. The Reagan Library is kicking off their year-long celebration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of the United States. This is another early day 4th of July event that allows you to get your pre-fireworks BBQ in before going off to see the show.
π Event: Simi Valley’s Star-Spangled Rock & Country Jam
π
Date: Friday, July 4, 2025 —Fireworks~9:00 PM
π Location: Rancho Santa Susana Community Park
π Info: https://www.visitsimivalley.com/event/simi-valleys-star-spangled-rock-country- jam-3/
π My Local Note: Another event I have yet to attend, so I can’t really comment. Other than saying that the Kiwanis Club of Simi Valley and the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District
ALWAYS do a great job with whatever they have their hand in.
